Constitution
1. The name of the club shall be Poulton Bowls Club.
2. The object of the club shall be to promote the game of Crown Green Bowling under the auspices of the British Crown Green Bowling Association.
3. Membership shall be open to members of both sexes.
4. Membership Fee
Membership Fee - £35.00
These annual subscriptions may be subject to variation by a decision of the AGM, or as economic conditions regulate.
5. Subscriptions must be paid by 31st May each year.
6. The club shall elect officers annually as follows:-
S Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Club Captain(s)
7. All members to have voting rights.
8. The management of the club shall be by the management committee. Which shall consist of the above mentioned officers and FOUR club members, to be elected at the AGM. All candidates for election shall be duly proposed and seconded and must first have given their consent to serve if elected. In th event of more than one nomination for each office, a ballot shall be held, and a simple majority shall decide.
9. The financial year shall be from the October 1st to September 30th of the following year. The Treasurer to finalise the accounts within these dates.
10. The AGM shall be held in October every year as soon as practicable for the treasurer to present audited accounts.
11. The AGM shall elect the candidates from year to year.
12. All resolutions, duly proposed and seconded, shall be sent to the secretary at least 14 days prior to the AGM.
13. The secretary shall take the minutes of the AGM and they shall be read, confirmed and signed at the next AGM.
14. In cases of emergency affecting the club members, an EMERGENCY General Meeting shall be called, each member having been given notice of the date, time and venue.
15. All decisions or matters voted on at an AGM or EGM shall be decided by a simple majority. In the event of a tie, the Chairman shall have the casting vote.
16. GENERAL MATTERS. When arriving at the green, members shall play in order of time of arrival when not engaged in league matches.
17. The AGM shall decide what leagues to enter, subject to sufficient players being available to fulfil the clubs obligation to the respective leagues.
18. The club shall run its own individual competitions eg. Club Championship, Victory Cup etc. All competitions to be subject to BCGBA rules.
19. The club shall pursue fund raising activities to maintain the financial viability of the club.
20. The Management Committee shall be empowered to apply for outside funding, subject to AGM or EGM.
21. The constitution may, if so decided by an AGM, may be amended to from time to time.
